Arcane Labyrinth is one of the more complex Battle Modes in AFK Journey, partially because it allows players to pick their paths—with each path leading to a rather different outcome.
In this guide, we will go over all of the intricacies of the Arcane Labyrinth game mode and show players how they can best perform in this game mode in order to obtain all of the best rewards that this game mode has to offer every weeks by obtaining the most amount of points from the game mode.
What is it?
Arcane Labyrinth is a Dungeon Crawling maze in AFK Journey. In this mode, the goal is to clear as many stages of the dungeon floors as possible with fixed HP and Energy. At the start, players pick ten Heroes who will substitute for each other until no one’s alive.
Arcane Labyrinth consists of 160 Floors divided into eight different difficulties (each difficulty level has 20 Floors). After clearing 15 Floors in Arcane Labyrinth, players must battle an Elite Challenge Boss, which is often stronger than regular foes. Once this match is successfully concluded, the difficulty level of the maze increases automatically.
Heroes’ HP and Energy won’t reset after each battle. Plus, defeated enemies won’t respawn, and if the player has killed, say, four of them, the rematch will only start with one enemy (the last man standing).
Deep Labyrinth
The Arcane Labyrinth is divided mainly into 2 separate parts: the normal floors (consisting of 15 floors in total) and the Deep Labyrinth.
The first 15 floors of the Arcane Labyrinth are designed specifically for players who want to obtain a large amount of rewards, with each floor containing waves of enemies that players need to clear in order to be able to finish the challenges.
The Deep Labyrinth is a ranked mode that is unlocked after the players have managed to complete all of the 15 normal floors of the Arcane Labyrinth and is a special endless mode where players will be able to challenge the floor as much as possible until all of their team members and heroes are defeated in battle.
This mode does not provide players with rewards upon its completion. However, this mode’s result will be counted towards the overall ranking of Arcane Labyrinth and will result in players being able to obtain various rewards once the Arcane Labyrinth progress is reset after every week, depending on their ranks in the leaderboard.
Relics & Crests
Relics are stat boosters granted for each victory in Arcane Labyrinth. Crests, however, are passive abilities earned for collecting two, four, six, or eight Relics of the same type. Players get to choose what Relic to fight for at the start of each match. However, Crests are only selectable once the required number of Relics is achieved.
The best Relics are Warmth (which increases HP after each victory), Fortitude (which boosts the overall HP of the team), and Guard (which enhances Physical and Magic DEF). As for the Crests, players are advised to go with Legendary options whenever possible. Though, choosing the right Crest depends on the current synergies of the team.
Fitz’s Store & Pure Crystals
Pure crystals are the currency that players can use exclusively in Arcane Labyrinth. These items can be obtained after players have finished certain stages in the Labyrinth and can be obtained even more with certain stages that will reward extra pure crystals once players have managed to defeat all of the enemies.
The pure crystals can be used in a multitude of ways in the Labyrinth challenge, one use is to change the Crest selections that players can choose by consuming 20 pure crystals. But the more important usage of these pure crystals are for the special Fitz’s Store stages.
During the Labyrinth challenge, players might encounter Fitz’s store choice. Entering the Fitz’s store will give players a rest from fighting and allow them to use Pure Crystals to buy special relic shards and items to help strengthen and aid the team in the Labyrinth. Typically Fitz’s Store will appear around the halfway mark into the challenges and at the end of the challenges, before the start of the final boss. Therefore, players should pay attention to this and buy the commodities available in the Fitz’s Store to have a better chance of clearing the labyrinth.
How to build a team
As a general rule, players are recommended to have at least one Healer, one Tank, and one DPS in their formation. The fourth and fifth slots may vary depending on the situation.
